Evaluation: Escora Zohra Quarter-Cup Bra & Brief

Author: Estelle

Disclosure: I bought this lingerie with my own funds and was not asked to assessment it. This post contains an affiliate link.

Have you heard of German brand Escora? If not, that is understandable – they don’t appear to do significantly advertising and marketing in the UK. They’ve been about given that 1862 but I by no means see their name pop up on any lingerie blogs or trade media, and after stumbling across the brand last year, I promptly forgot they existed.

Lately however they have appeared on a single of my favourite flash sales websites, MySale, every couple of months. Sometime earlier this year – I overlook when, but I’ve had this set for at least six months – one of those sales was happening and I took the opportunity to give them a go. I genuinely enjoy their aesthetic, but Escora is a luxury (i.e. pricey) brand and I was reluctant to spend complete price tag when I couldn’t find a single assessment on the web.

The Zohra variety is nevertheless available to buy direct from Escora – the quarter cup bra is reduced from 99.95€ to 79.96€ (about £69 or $ 86), and the briefs are down from 54.95€ to 43.96€ (about £38 or $ 47). The Zohra range also involves a ton of other bra and bottom styles – I especially like this bra and this one particular!

Appearance

Straight away, you can tell this is a luxury set. The embroidery is stunning and uncommon, and then of course there’s the jewellery. Close-up, I wouldn’t say it appears particularly expensive – the grey ‘gemstones’ appear a tad dull and plastic-y – but they’re gorgeous from a distance and do truly add to the all round appear of both pieces. The jewelled choker on the bra is detachable thanks to a discreet small hook inside the gore.

One more sign that this is a luxury set are the bespoke, gold-tone charms on both pieces with Escora’s chic important logo. I like to pretend they’re ‘E’s for Esty!

Verdict: 8 / ten

escora-quarter-cup-bra-with-detachable-jewellery

Construction

The quarter cup bra has lightly-padded cups that finish just beneath the nipple, overlaid with the embroidered fabric. The bra’s wings, and the side panels on the front of the brief, are produced from a sheer mesh that is wonderfully soft and stretchy. The knickers have silicone just inside the scalloped edge of the embroidery, to aid hold them in location (as the embroidered fabric is not so stretchy).

The detachable choker ties around the neck with double-sided satin ribbon, and the bow I tie it in also has a tendency to undo itself. I consider I’ll finish up replacing the ribbon with an elastic strap with a hook to fasten behind the neck. When I remember to get round to it, I’ll also re-sew the Escora charm onto the knickers simply because it is been sewn on at a 45 degree angle rather than hanging straight!

Verdict: 7 / ten

escora-quarter-cup-bra-review

Fit

I bought the bra in a European 70E which is a UK 32DD (even although it says UK/US 32E on the label – that is wrong). That was my size at the time of buy and it fit me fantastic, nonetheless it nevertheless fits just fine now that I’ve dropped a cup size. The quarter cup shape is genuinely rather flexible on size – even if it gapes a little, it still appears fine simply because, let’s face it, the point of a quarter-cupped bra is not a best match!

The bottoms I purchased in a European 34 or XS. Once more, the label is confusing – it also says US six (which is a UK 10, and a S according to their personal size chart) and UK 8 (an EU 34 is a UK 6). I consider they fit like a UK six, possibly a 6-eight. Ignore their size charts and go by your usual European sizing.

This set is super comfortable. The quarter-cup, in case you’re wondering, is in fact actually supportive and I forget it is not a typical bra. I feel entirely fine wearing this all day extended – I don’t fall out of it or feel any ‘bounciness’. The jewellery on the knickers clinks and jingles a bit although, so perhaps not to work!

Verdict: 7 / ten

Durability

The Zohra bra and knickers are each hand-wash only, and following six+ months of undertaking that they nevertheless look brand new.

Verdict: 9 / 10

Worth for Cash

I do not recall what I paid for this set, but as pointed out the RRP is about £69 for the bra and £38 for the knickers. Costly, but on the decrease finish of luxury lingerie pricing, plus it’s made in Europe where production charges are higher than, say, China. Possessing observed the high quality first-hand, I can definitely recommend it and believe it’s worth full price.

Verdict: 10 / 10

Escora is effectively worth checking out if you enjoy luxurious, gorgeous lingerie with a touch of eroticism. There are a lot of products available, though the web site is a bit challenging to navigate – there’s no search function for one issue, but do a bit of digging and you will uncover some gems. Click here, here, here and here to see what I’m most coveting!

Had you heard of Escora ahead of? And have you ever attempted a quarter-cupped bra?

Overview: Playful Promises Miranda Absinthe Peep-Hole Bra & Ouvert Brief

Author: Eliza

Disclosure: This set was a personal obtain, not a brand sample.

The Playful Promises summer sale not too long ago ended, which signifies it is time to show off some new goodies! The Miranda Absinthe bra and ouvert short have been on sale for just £15 each, and even though originally I had been eyeing the set in black and ivory, I couldn’t turn down a cost like that. At 1st I was a tiny skeptical of the set in this colour, but I’m happily surprised by how much I really like it!

Playful Promises Miranda bra set review

Appearance: 8/ten

I chose the ouvert Miranda short more than the common one due to the fact I wanted it to match the peek-a-boo theme of the bra. The openings on both the bra and briefs are super fun, and not at all subtle – there’s nothing coy about this set!

The lighting in the photographs on the Playful Promises internet site tends to make the precise colour difficult to figure out. I anticipated the set to be more of a light blue, while it is really a pale, electric mint green. Though not exactly what I had anticipated, the absinthe green is intriguing, and the much more I wear this set, the much more I adore the way it looks.

Playful Promises Miranda peephole bra

Building: ten/10

1 of my favourite bra styles is unlined and unpadded with underwire. It creates a lovely mixture of comfort and support. The Miranda Absinthe Peep-Hole bra embodies this style completely. It’s from Playful Promises’ DD-G fuller bust collection, and maintaining in mind the want for additional help for bigger sizes, the straps are slightly thicker than on the average bra. The underwire contributes to the shape and help, and the mesh fabric is breathable and light. Following a few wears, the set seems to be high quality.

I may confine these briefs exclusively to the bedroom, but the bra is comfortable adequate that, with the proper layering, I would wear it out for the duration of the day as properly.

Playful Promises lingerie review Miranda ouvert bra

Fit: Bra: 10/ten, Briefs: 7/10

If this bra is any indication, Playful Promises excels in the DD+ variety. I ordered my typical bra size, a 32E, and it fits perfectly. There’s no squeezing or gapping against the skin, and it gives a modest lift although maintaining a all-natural shape.

Sadly, the briefs didn’t work out really as nicely. They fit accurate to size about the hips, but the ouvert middle is awkward. It’s as well wide for my body, so it hangs strangely and bunches a small close to the front and rear of the opening.

It is also pertinent to note that, as opposed to some of the far more subtle ouvert knickers I own, the opening on the Miranda brief is very apparent when worn, as it covers the majority of the knicker. It’s extremely dramatic, which can be best for the right occasion!

My overall suggestions on the briefs would be to take into account how massive the opening is. If you’re petite like me, it might be as well wide for your hips. Either stick with the common Miranda briefs or be ready to return them if needed. Regardless of the imperfect match, I do like the briefs and I am maintaining them.

Playful Promises Miranda ouvert brief review

Value for Money: ten/10

I bought this set for £30 total, which was a steal! One particular great issue about Playful Promises is that they have a handful of major sales a year, so as long as you are willing to wait you can grab pieces for a huge discount, typically less than half their regular price tag. I also identified a coupon for totally free international shipping on-line, which cut the cost even additional.

I most likely wouldn’t have bought this set at full value, as both the style and colour are slightly uncommon for my tastes. Nonetheless, if you really like these pieces, even at full price tag they’re not a undesirable deal. It’s a comfortable set of excellent high quality, it’s entertaining, and it’s full of surprises!

Playful Promises ouvert bra close up

Would I Advocate?

Yes! Playful Promises’ DD+ bras are a touchstone for anybody in that size range. I’ll certainly be purchasing more from them in the future.

Did you order something throughout Playful Promises’ summer sale? Has any person else had strange experiences with the fit of ouvert knickers?

Eliza.

‘Natalia Nightshade’ Bra, Brief and Suspender by Pleasure State…

‘Natalia Nightshade’ Bra, Brief and Suspender by Pleasure State White Label.

Pleasure State is one of the most consistent and reliable Australian brands, across the board. ‘Natalia Nightshade’ has the mix of great style, amazing match and high quality that has made PS so profitable. This underwire, lightly lined plunge bra is comfortable, supportive and an accurate fit, so far as my most usual size goes. This is undoubtedly a bra you can wear all day, but is also, as you can see, quite lovely! Significantly the very same for the mini-brief, a reduce which can typically be annoying due to it is prospective to ‘ride up’, but this 1 stays in location and is also good for long wear with no aesthetic compromise. The shape of this suspender is beautiful, flattering the cut of the bra and short, making a good balance on the body and functioning properly. The secure match on the waist and hip implies it does it’s job of really holding up stockings nicely. My favored issue about this set even though is the navy colour (a delightful and exciting alternative to black), the fabric and all the other designs particulars. A crochet, navy lace with metallic silver sparkles woven in? I’ve in no way quite noticed something like it, not at this place in the marketplace. The scalloped edge of the lace is perfection and each tiny decoration from the ribbons to dual-colored bows and hardware is exciting and quirkily quite. Yet not 1 specific feature distracts from or overwhelms one more. A beautiful, chic and attractive style, Natalia Nightshade is an instance of fantastic and uncompromising style.

The Day-to-day Knicker

Honey Birdette ‘Veruka’ Brief Suspender Set and Cuban Heel…

Honey Birdette ‘Veruka’ Short Suspender Set and Cuban Heel Stockings.

The definition of ‘not-so-fundamental-black’ Veruka is something I haven’t come across in lingerie however- military inspired. The bra has a lot of padding, so be prepared for ultra lift and cleavage. Which is possibly just as effectively because you are going to want to show of the neckline, which has a detachable collar, which means it can function as a typical bra or as deliberately visible statement piece (if going for the latter, I suggest beneath a black pencil dress, a white or black collared shirt or a deep-v plunging black leading, as recommendations). The wide shoulder straps make it far much more comfortable than thinner strapped bras as there is much less chance to ‘dig in’. The hot pant short is a cheeky/brazilian cut, which I’m usually not a fan of, but this is cut just-so and in fact STAYS in location (!- the reality most don’t is why I don’t normally like them). Paired with the suspender, the brief is truly amazing. The two garments, exactly where they sit on the physique and the fabrics, a thick black satin and a powermesh, act like shapewear, giving an remarkable smoothing and subtley waist-cinching effect. I completely intend to put on this even with no the bra for this purpose. My favourite aspect of this style nonetheless is the details- the gold military buttons and strong, sturdy gold clips, clasps and adjustors. Get a soldier’s cap, an HB riding crop or some undesirable-ass boots and go to town on the roleplay with this distinct, however versatile, character-inspired set.

Julie K Lingerie Daisy Bralette and Brief. Like mega-babes who…

Julie K Lingerie Daisy Bralette and Short. Like mega-babes who are also talented and super sweet? Then I’d like to introduce you to Julie K. I was following Julie’s accounts for a whilst just before I realised that all the lingerie in her photographs have been from her own label. I loved the colors and subtle-but-very-cute particulars she makes use of, in cuts that reference the 60′s (like this best set) and 90′s (her high-reduce thongs). This set, ‘Daisy’, has a 60′s, Marcia Brady, slumber celebration vibe that I love and is perfect for spring/summer. It is a top quality, soft stretch cotton, the bralette has adjustable straps and handsewn daisy detail (all pieces of Julie K are produced by Julie herself). I debated sizing for a lengthy time, because so many bralettes are a fail on me, but this is exactly where Julie’s lovely character came in, as she was extremely beneficial in helping me function out my size. She has exceptional customer service skills/correspondence. I generally put on a 10/32d and settled on a which was best. I actually feel comfy in this, assistance-sensible, far a lot more than any triangle bralette. The brief is my preferred reduce- a entirely flawless bikini short. Both pieces really feel like you’re wearing nothing at all beneath clothing (a marker of wonderful undergarments), but ‘Daisy’ is so friggin’ cute and flattering I maintain wearing it with absolutely nothing or daisy duke/denim cut-offs and almost certainly as a bikini this summer time. I now Really like this brand, this set exceeded my expectations.

The Day-to-day Knicker

Evaluation: Fauve Chloe Balcony Bra & Brief

Author: Estelle

Disclaimer: I purchased this lingerie with my own money and neither Fauve nor Belle Lingerie requested a assessment.

Have you heard of Fauve? I hadn’t, until they closed down and all of a sudden full-bust bloggers everywhere started lamenting their demise! Apparently, they had been pretty great (I Googled some photographs – they have been)  but the remaining stock that retailers have is dwindling so it’s either now or in no way to get your hands on a bit of Fauve if you see anything you like.

Fauve Chloe bra review

I spotted this Chloe bra over at Belle Lingerie and instantly fell in adore. I’ve been on a hunt for The Ideal Red Lingerie Set for years and whilst this isn’t it, it is definitely gorgeous. Red is my favourite colour by miles but I feel like it’s easy to make red look tacky (perhaps I’ve just seen one particular as well a lot of Attractive Mrs Claus sets in my life) so I’ve somehow amassed a enormous lingerie collection that only consists of 1 red set. Until I saw this one particular anyway.

Fauve Chloe balcony bra review

Look

The balcony-style Chloe bra has three-component cups in a floral embroidery which has that one particular thing that never fails to make embroidery appear luxe – thickness. I was a little disappointed even though to discover that the mesh lining on the bottom 2 cups is opaque – in the solution photo on Belle Lingerie, it does not even show up so I’d assumed the cups have been sheer all more than.

The bra has some truly lovely finishing touches which set it apart from less expensive brands, like the embroidered flowers on the straps and the way the (genuinely quite) strap elastic continues at the back of the bra all the way to the fastening.

The matching quick is good too with wide panels of embroidery at either side!

Verdict: 8 / ten

Fauve Chloe bra review in red

Construction

The Chloe bra and quick are both beautifully produced, with the 1 exception of the leg openings on the brief just becoming overlocked. It appears low cost and is starting to fray in a few locations currently.

The materials though are superb-quality. In fact, what sticks in my thoughts most about this set is how soft the knickers are! Normally when I say lingerie is comfortable, I mean it’s not uncomfy, but this quick is a delight to put on. It feels like butter!

Verdict: 9 / 10

Fauve bra review Chloe balcony in scarlet

Fit

I bought the bra in a 30E and the short in an XS / UK 8. The shorts looked pretty tiny when they arrived and I worried they have been going to dig in, but that fabric is as stretchy as it is soft and the match is just excellent.

The bra band is a common 30 – not as well tight, not as well loose. The only fit issue I had was with the cups which are a small bit loose on me. The wires fit so effectively at the bottom although that I feel it’s much more a case of the bra just not becoming suited to full-on-bottom shapes, rather than me needing to size down. There’s a half-cup version that in hindsight might have been better for me.

Also, while we’re talking about match, this bra gives a super uplifted, perky shape! If you are utilized to wearing moulded cups and want a non-wired bra that is going to give a similar shape, this is it.

Verdict: 8 / ten

Fauve Chloe balcony bra in scarlet red

Durability

The Fauve Chloe bra and short are both hand-wash only, so bear that in thoughts prior to buying if you have a tendency to stick everything in the washing machine. They do not nonetheless leak any colour, which is so typically the case with something bright red, so that is a major plus.

Verdict: 8 / 10

Fauve Chloe short review

Worth for Cash

Originally this Chloe set would have cost you £84 so it’s not cheap, but as pointed out Fauve has closed down and is on sale quite significantly everywhere it’s sold. Belle Lingerie has this bra for £16.80 and the shorts for £10.40.

Verdict: 10 / 10

Would I suggest it?

I would highly advise it, not least due to the fact this is nicely and truly your last chance to acquire it. It is a lovely, glamorous style but also much more than comfortable enough for everyday wear.

Fauve’s Chloe is also available in a bunch of other colours if red is not your point – I consider I’ll be going back for the half-cup version in Passion Pink!

What do you think of the Chloe set from Fauve? Are you sad to see this brand go, or are you excited to attempt them out now that almost everything is on clearance?
