Luxury Knicker Critiques: La Lilouche & Agent Provocateur

Author: Estelle

Disclosure: I bought both products here with my personal money and was not asked to evaluation them. This post contains affiliate hyperlinks.

These days I bring you a couple of ‘brief’ testimonials, har har. I’ve fallen a small behind on the items I had planned to review and these knickers are both now sold out, but they’re pretty and I wanted to function them anyway. So rather than my usual, in-depth testimonials, I believed I’d bundle them with each other into one brief but image-heavy post. Enjoy!

My La Lilouche Adelle-Lana set is one of the most luxurious factors I’ve ever bought, and quite considerably the moment I received it and saw the high quality and detail first-hand I went back for more from her sample sale (nonetheless on, by the way).

I’m just so in adore with these Veronika knickers. They have basically almost everything on them – wet-look fabric, sheer fabric, appliqué, cut-out detail, 3D roses… require I go on? However with it all getting the very same colour it doesn’t appear like as well a lot. This is what I really like about La Lilouche so a lot of of her designs feature a multitude of diverse textures and fabrics that are blended perfectly together. The finish is artistic and unique and quite, extremely luxurious.

La Lilouche’s rates reflect the level of detail that goes into her pieces i.e. it’s costly, but it’s so worth each penny. I’ve now got my eye on the higher-waisted Alexina knickers, the button-up Leina knickers and, like, each other item in retailer.

Agent Provocateur Bubbles knickers

I have long coveted Agent Provocateur‘s Bubbles line. I 1st wrote about it in the original black back in 2012 and it was 1 of those pieces I’d really regretted not getting after it had sold out, but then the planets aligned and they re-released it a handful of seasons later in my favourite colour, red.

As significantly as I love the aesthetics here, I ended up buying this on sale (one of the few pieces I said I’d allow myself to do that for in the course of my complete-priced only challenge) and I’m glad I did. The knickers do have a gusset but it’s a teeny tiny one that covers nothing, so with the ginormous gaps in this supersized net it’s just not really comfortable or, in my opinion, eye-catching to put on. I’m going to sew in a taller gusset myself!

The elastic trims around the leg openings have a tendency to turn over as I stroll and show the stitched-onto side, and the net itself is a loosely-woven and very easily-pulled type that’s currently rubbed thin nearly to the point of falling apart where it wraps around the gold ring at the back. I’ve bought rather a lot from Agent Provocateur more than the years and I have to say, this is the lowest-quality item of the lot. It’s nice to finally own one thing I’ve lusted following for so long, but honestly I sort of want I’d place the cash towards some thing else.

What do you consider of these two pairs of knickers? Also, I’d enjoy to know if you favor my usual, detailed evaluations that cover match, durability and so on, or short and sweet ones like this? I do not review every little thing I purchase basically simply because I do not have the time, but I could consider carrying out much more typical mini evaluations like this if you’d be interested in them.

Lingerie Assessment: Mimi Holliday Sugared Almond Bra & Higher Waist Corset Knicker

Disclosure: I received this set as a present from Mimi Holliday for review purposes. All opinions are my personal.

Mimi Holliday Sugared Almond Non Padded Shoulder Bra and High Waisted Corset Knicker

Mimi Holliday’s Autumn/Winter 2016 Collections are complete of designs named following sweet treats that are neither sickly nor saccharine. Cinnamon Sugar, Wild Strawberry, Marmalade – these easy, delicate flavors bring to thoughts sunlit autumn mornings in bed, with warm milky tea and cozy cotton sheets and fresh fall air. These sets fit appropriate into that vision. They’re fairly adequate to satisfy your sweet tooth, but delightfully easy and oh-so-wearable.

Using the softest blush stretch lace, the Sugared Almond group fits in perfectly. I didn’t request a certain set when Mimi Holliday reached out, but aesthetically-speaking, I couldn’t have made a far better choice myself. The pink lace is ultra-soft, edged with tiny blossoming garlands, covered in swiss dots, and layered over creamy, vanilla-tinted mesh. It’s so fairly but also extremely soft and comfortable. I received the Non Padded Shoulder Bra, available in UK sizes 32-38 B-F, and the High Waisted Corset Knicker, obtainable in sizes XS by way of XL.

The bra is superb and almost acts like a “faux bralette.” In a 32F, my usual size, I can barely feel it about my torso when I put on it. The band does run a tiny bit big. Combined with the single-hook back and the soft, stretchy lace, you get a bra that does not do a lot of heavy lifting, but rather provides just enough help. For individuals who love the thought of a soft, comfortable bralette but have trouble fitting them (hi! me!) or just want a bit much more lift, this could be a nice alternative. Plus, the high cups are beautiful to show off beneath a decrease prime, just like a style bralette. It’s actually the ideal comfy bra. It could even be a nice underwire sleep bra, if that’s your style.

The stretch lace provides a retro teardrop shape, and the position of the dart indicates you’ll often have a tiny point at the apex of your breast. If you’re searching for a perfectly round, ultra-lifted shape, this isn’t the bra for you. I put on the biggest cup size offered for this style, but from my knowledge fitting similar Mimi Holliday soft-cup bras, the shape will keep basically the same on smaller-breasted figures. The overall silhouette is quite “1970s wildflower meadow maiden” and I am so down with it.

Comparing the photo of the model with my images, it looks like the plunge might be cut slightly different in larger sizes due to the lace’s width. In the 32F, the lace meets the center gore practically horizontally, giving the “V” shape a wide, flat “point.” That angle looks less dramatic on the model, but it’s hard to say without having comparing the two in person. Having stated that, if your breasts are especially close with each other, the further-wide “V” shape of the plunge might cut in. However, I can see this style operating effectively on each shallow and full breasts.

I have a really brief torso, so predictably, the knickers come up a lot higher on me than on the model. High-waisted panties in common give me mixed feelings I really like the vintage vibes, but I don’t like how they look on my narrow hips. Fortunately, this pair in certain is really high on the leg, which is a nice contrast and tends to make them look more like a style selection than a modesty choice. I normally wear amongst a Medium and Huge in panties, and this Huge feels true to size. I could size down, but the softness lends itself well to a slightly fuller fit, and I’m not confident I’d want that gusset to be any smaller! It is preeeetty narrow.

Both the bra and the knicker are mainly seamless and sit smooth against your skin, aside from the fairly grosgrain elastic corset lacing on the back of the knicker, which I’m obsessed with. If you don’t thoughts the lack of nipple coverage, it makes a fantastic t-shirt bra, with no edges showing from beneath your top. A bra that is complete of pretty lace but soft enough to really feel like a bralette? Like the name implies, this Sugared Almond set is delicately sweet but casual enough to put on on a day-to-day basis. I love it.

What do you feel of this Mimi Holliday set? Do you put on bras with this teardrop shape?

Blurring the lines between lingerie and swim, “Dusk,” our edit of bodywear in jewel colors and metal information – should be your style reference this summer.

Under and outer-wear trends converge right here in an array of wealthy tones, whether or not 1 or two piece, in shimmering, shiny spandex or matte, wetsuit-like fabrics.

Details like zips, chains and tangles of string-ties take you from the pool to the dance-floor to the bedroom as rapidly as you can say ‘do the hustle’, simply because these pieces are made for your inner dirty disco queen.

Featuring styles from renowned boundary-pushers Agent Provocateur and Honey Birdette, as well as indie originals Bones Lingerie and Laurel &amp Hector, the result is a wardrobe fit for a 70’s femme fatale – a go-go dancing Penny Lane who ditches the band for the bar and requires off on her personal trip in a blur of hot lights and higher shine.

The Everyday Knicker X LiveFAST Magazine

I chosen and wore some of my favourite pieces identified at CurveExpo in NYC in Feb, for my preferred mag- the sleek, stylish and risque independent publication LiveFAST.

In turn, they asked me my thoughts about lingerie and every little thing from the current market place to my physical connection with it.

Thanks to every person involved who came out to Brooklyn in the cold, torrential rain of this day to produce such a gorgeous story. Thank you Loveday London, Harlow &amp Fox, Maison Close, Pleasure State, Agent Provocateur and Christian Louboutin for making such stunning pieces. Thank you Olivia for your beautiful words. And thank you to my love and husband Patrick Delaney for getting the ideal and most supportive dilemma-solver and production assistant a girl could ask for.

The Day-to-day Knicker X Laud Magazine

Laud Magazine and I decided to collaborate on a shoot inspired by a dark brand of old Hollywood beauty. Smoky, wealthy and mysterious, we created a fictional character inspired by the likes of Marlene Dietrich and Gloria Swanson and wondered what such a lady may well put on to seduce a lover. Assuming she’d play on a mixture of feminine/masculine, without having ever letting up on the glamour factor, we paired pale lace and silken fabrics with a modernized take on moody 30′s make-up and hair.

KissKill ‘Tiah’ Bra and Knicker. When I identified out super cool…

KissKill ‘Tiah’ Bra and Knicker. When I found out super cool Aussie label KissKill had named a set after me, after the initial blushed-face giggliness settled down (for there could be no greater compliment for a lingerie lover), I was immediately curious as to what said style looked like. What would garments that reference your personality or identity in others’ minds be?! So I was actually a little anxious about it! Yet, very excited, as I have not, since I first saw KissKill a couple of years ago, seen a piece by them that I did not like. Their ‘Lana’ set is the best open/quarter cup bra and brief that I own. The &ampfrac14-cup-that-actually-works aspect of ‘Lana’ (that is the underwire and moulded crescent-shaped under part that offers some lift) is also in the ‘Tiah’ bra. Except instead of an open cup, there is a lining of eyelash lace and boning up the centre seam of the cup. These two factors together give amazing support and ‘straight up’ lift similar to a balconette, but the boning moulds to the shape of your breast so there is no risk of spill and great feeling of ‘security’. There is an adjustable and detachable lace collar that attaches to a loop in the centre of the cups, a very cute and quirky detail thats allows for fun outerwear styling options. The bikini brief, also similar to ‘Lana’ has a naughty open back, whilst looking like a simple, mesh and lace number from the front. I find the sizing on the bra perfect, yet as someone who can hover between a Small and Medium, I would probably recommend sizing up in the brief if in doubt or wanting more coverage across the front. I love how this set, based on a few tweaks and little styling can go from completely functional to visually awesome. i.e., take off the collar and it’s a simple chic black set. Leave it and add some stilettos and stockings (my faves- @wolford Fatal 15′s are a PERFECT match) and it’s a weapon of ‘wow’-fare! KissKill Tiah Bra and Knicker HERE (in Black or White)KissKill HomePage
